Travel John Disposable Urinal 3 Pack — Portable Urinal for Men, Women & Kids
Some stretches of road just don't have a toilet. The Nullarbor, the Stuart Highway, a four-hour crawl out of Melbourne on a long weekend, a boat ramp at 6am, a campsite with one amenities block and a queue. Travel John is the answer to the question every parent and every driver has asked at least once: what do we do right now?
Each pouch holds up to 800ml and locks it away as a firm, odourless gel in seconds. Seal it, stow it, bin it at the next stop. No spills on the upholstery, no smell in the car, no hunting for somewhere to empty anything.
Made for the way Australians actually travel
- Road trips and long drives: keep a pack in the glovebox for the stretches between towns
- Caravans and camping: a night-time option that doesn't mean walking to the amenities block
- Kids in the back seat: no more pulling over on the shoulder of a highway
- Car sickness: works for vomit as well, which is why it earns its place on family trips
- Boating, fishing and 4WD tracks: where there's simply nothing for hours
- Traffic, roadworks and festivals: or any queue that won't move
How it works
Inside each pouch is LIQSORB®, an absorbent polymer sealed in a biodegradable non-woven sleeve. Liquid entering the bag is drawn into the polymer and converted to gel almost immediately, which is what stops both the sloshing and the smell. The gel is non-toxic and safe for normal waste disposal.
A moulded unisex collar sits against the body so it can be used sitting or standing, by men, women and children. A spill guard inside the neck prevents backflow, and the resealable closure means the pouch can be used more than once until it's full.
What's in the pack
Three disposable urinal pouches, each with its own unisex adapter, spill guard, resealable closure and volume indicator. Antiseptic hand wipes are included for afterwards.
Benefits:
- Hygienic, odourless, resealable and leak proof.
- Suitable for men, women and children.
- Reusable until full.
- Includes anti-septic moist hand wipes for disinfection.
How to use:
1. Check the absorbent pouch is sitting inside the bag.
2. Press the plastic collar firmly against the body, higher end to the front.
3. Use the bag directly — it handles urine or vomit.
4. Once the liquid has gelled, seal the bag and put it in any waste bin.

FAQ
How much does one Travel John hold?
Up to 800ml — roughly a large drink bottle. There's a volume indicator printed on the side so you can see how full it is.
Can I use it more than once?
Yes. Each pouch reseals and can be reused until the absorbent pouch is full. How many uses you get depends on volume, but most people get two to three from a single pouch.
Can women and children use it?
Yes. The moulded collar is a unisex design that works sitting or standing, and the pack is used by men, women and kids alike. It's one of the main reasons families keep a pack in the car.
Will it leak if it gets squashed in the glovebox?
No. Once the liquid has turned to gel it can't slosh or pour, and the resealable closure and internal spill guard hold it in place. A used, sealed pouch can sit in a bag or boot without incident.
Does it smell?
No. The polymer traps liquid and locks in odour as it gels. That's the main difference between this and a bottle.
Can it be used for car sickness or vomiting?
Yes, and it's one of the more common reasons people buy it. The same gel process applies, and the resealable closure means it can be sealed and binned without mess.
How do I dispose of it?
Seal the pouch and put it in any normal rubbish bin. The gel is non-toxic and safe for standard waste disposal. No special handling and nothing to empty.
Can I take it on a plane?
An unused Travel John is dry and compact, so it carries easily. Airline and security rules vary, so check with your airline before flying if you're unsure.
How long does it keep before use?
Unused pouches store indefinitely in a cool, dry place. Keeping a pack in the glovebox or caravan means it's there when you need it.
What comes in the pack?
Three pouches, each with a unisex adapter, spill guard, resealable closure and volume indicator, plus antiseptic hand wipes.
